From June to August, we studied through Daniel together on Sunday mornings a chapter at a time. Below are audio copies of the sermons from this series. Sermons are between 45 minutes and 60 minutes. Each file is saved at a lower bitrate for size reasons. 

Daniel contains 12 chapter. The first 6 chapters are experiences in Daniel's life. The remaining 6 chapters contain visions and prophesies of events yet to befall the nation of Israel. 

Included at the end of most messages is the closing hymn for the service for each Sunday.

Daniel Chapter 1 - Remaining Faithful

Ripped away from their home by a pagan king, Daniel and three Hebrews are faced with abandoning their religion and culture.

Daniel Chapter 2 - Providential Deliverance

King Nebuchadnezzar experienced a troubling dream, but could not receive an interpretation because he had forgotten it. When the sorcerers of Babylon were powerless to recover the dream, Daniel begs God for the dream and correct interpretation: A prophesy of world empires from Babylon to Rome.

Daniel Chapter 3 - The Boldness to Stand

Daniel's three Hebrew friends are met with a terrible predicament, bow down and worship a giant idol or die in a fiery furnace.

Daniel Chapter 4 - King of Kings

Lifted up with pride, Nebuchadnezzar boasts of his accomplishments in Babylon. However, his special place in human history was according to God's will and intervention. In this chapter, God humbles him.

Daniel Chapter 5 - God Is Not Mocked

Many years after the reign of Nebuchadnezzar had ended, a foolish king named Belshazzar rules in Babylon. Unknown to him, Cyrus, king of Persia, was preparing to take the city of Babylon. Belshazzar holds a drunken party and has the audacity to use the artifacts taken from God's Holy Temple in Jerusalem when a hand appears and writes a terrifying message on the wall.

Daniel Chapter 6 - True Grit

Now under the authority of the Persian empire, jealous princes conspired to have aged Daniel cast into a lion's den.

Chapters of Visions and Prophesies

Daniel Chapter 7 - Comfort In Disturbing Prophesy

Daniel experiences a vision of four terrifying beasts representing four successive world empires, with something distinct and special in the last empire.

Daniel Chapter 8 - Warring With God

Some political leaders exalt themselves to the point that they fight with God Himself. Daniel receives a vision of two battling goats, representing two empires. In the latter empire, a wicked king would assume power through deceit and torture God's people. Scary as that was, God would have the last say.

Daniel Chapter 9 - A Timeline to Christ (Daniel's 70 weeks)

In a period of fasting, God comforts Daniel with a prophesy of the Messiah, who would take away the sins of God's people.

Daniel Chapter 10 - Spiritual Warfare

Beginning in chapter 10, after three weeks of fasting, Daniel receives a visit from an Angel who informs him of world events to come. In this chapter, Daniel learns of an invisible, spiritual warfare going on around us in the world which we never perceive with our physical eyes.

Daniel Chapter 11 - Roadmap In Silence

From Malachi to John the Baptist, God did not send a prophet to Israel. This is known as the 400 years of Silence. Yet, God did not leave the Jews ignorant of what would befall their nation in this time period. In Daniel 11, God gives Daniel a roadmap of events, nations, and kings.

Daniel Chapter 12 - The Grand Finale! 

The finale of the Book of Daniel and the Grand Finale of all time! Having pivoted to the "time of the end" at the close of chapter 11, Daniel now learns of events we anticipate today - the second coming of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the glorification of the righteous.
